The AAS-72X is highly capable helicopter for the U.S. Army’s armed aerial scout requirement.  Derived from EADS North America’s UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter, the AAS-72X offers a low-risk evolution of the U.S. Army’s newest rotary-wing aircraft – which is widely considered one of the most successful acquisition programs in the service’s history.Â

Highly deployable, the AAS-72X’s small footprint allows for transport by C-17 aircraft with minimum reconfiguration upon arrival in the operating area. In addition, the helicopter’s large, unobstructed main cabin is easily reconfigurable – resulting in maximum flexibility. |

Based on the EC145 commercial airframe, the AAS-72X will provide commonality with the highly successful UH-72A Lakota Light Utility Helicopter - which has demonstrated its mission performance and operations with more than 25,000 flight-hours in Army service. |
